You are always welcome! At Nashuva we require no dues or tickets, we simply ask for gifts from your heart. There is a suggested donation of $375-$750 per person, but the key is give as you are able. All are welcome, but registration is requested so we know how many of you to welcome.
Once again, Nashuva is offering a children’s program full of fun, creative arts and crafts, storytelling, song and music, during the three services at the Skirball Center! Please see details below.
ROSH HASHANAH SERVICES:
- Erev Rosh Hashanah, Friday Evening, September 11th
at Clover Park in Santa Monica. Service begins at 6:00 pm, followed by a Festive Rosh Hashanah Seder Service and Meal (vegetarian/vegan buffet dinner). - Rosh Hashanah Day 1, Saturday Morning, September 12th at
The Skirball Center, Herscher Hall. Service begins at 9:30 am. - Rosh Hashanah Day 2, Sunday Afternoon, September 13th at Venice Beach. Drum Circle & Torah reading begins at 5:15 pm, Tashlich follows.
YOM KIPPUR SERVICES:
- Pre-Kol Nidre Boxed Meal, Sunday, September 20th. Meals will be served starting at 4:30 pm at The Skirball Center. (Prepaid Order Required. See below for more information.)
- Kol Nidre, Sunday Evening, September 20th at The Skirball Center, Herscher Hall. Service begins at 6:15 pm.
- Yom Kippur, Monday Morning, September 21st
The Skirball Center, Herscher Hall. Service begins at 9:30 am. - Healing Sound Bath at 4:45 pm at Clover Park in Santa Monica
- Ne’ilah and Havdalah, Monday Evening, September 21st at Clover Park in Santa Monica Services begin at 6:00 pm, followed by Break Fast.
At Nashuva, we have always prided ourselves on our unique foundation and the fact that we never charge admission for any of our services. All are welcome – always! To maintain our open, embracing circle, we rely on your help and ask you to open your heart and donate to the best of your ability.
The suggested minimum donation for attendance at the High Holy Day services is $350 – $750 per person. Please give so that we can maintain our unique and welcoming paradigm. Nashuva relies on High Holy Day donations to support year round programs. Please give from your heart as your are able. No one will be turned away.

This year we are offering a beautiful children’s program during the services held at Herscher Hall at The Skirball: Rosh Hashanah Day 1 morning, Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur morning – it will be a space of art, movement, song and celebration. If you would like your child to attend any of these Children’s Programs, please complete the SEPARATE registration for the children’s program. Please consider making an additional donation from your heart of $25 per child per service to help cover the cost of the program.
Our outdoor park locations are very welcoming and ideal for children and families. Children love coming to Nashuva outdoors! They love dancing to the music and meeting their friends!
Families often lay out their blankets and enjoy the service together, making for a joyous and deeply meaningful experience.

Dress is casual for all Nashuva services, but we encourage you to come in white in honor of the Holy Days. Please note that the evening services of Erev Rosh Hashana and Ne’ilah, Havdalah and Break Fast, will be held outside at Clover Park and Rosh Hashanah Day 2 will be held on the beach, but please bring a sweater because it might get chilly.
If you own a Tallit (prayer shawl), please bring it to morning services and to all Yom Kippur services. If you do not own a tallit, buy yourself a gift this year and see how wonderful it feels to be sheltered beneath its wings.
We know Yom Kippur is a fast day, but we don’t want anyone to feel sick, so if you think you might need it, please bring water and whatever supplies you might need to stay healthy.
We are providing chairs (except at the beach), but feel free to bring a blanket if you’d like to sit on the grass at Clover Park (although those services are late in the day).

Nashuva @ the Skirball (Herscher Hall)
This year we will again be holding three of our services in Herscher Hall at the Skirball Cultural Center.
Rosh Hashanah Day 1 (morning), Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur (day service) will all be held in the beautiful, inspirational, glass hall, nestled in nature.
Erev Rosh Hashanah Seder Service and Meal at Clover Park
We invite you to join us again for Nashuva’s Rosh Hashanah Seder Service! On Rosh Hashanah Eve (Friday night, September 11th), we will have a service beginning at 6:00 pm, combined with the ancient ceremony of a Rosh Hashanah Festive Seder Meal, a Sephardic tradition going back for two thousand years.
The theme of the Rosh Hashanah Seder Service is the welcoming of a new year of blessings. We will all partake in the eating of a meal full of symbolic foods for health, protection and blessings. It will certainly be a holy night to remember.
Please note that there is no separate charge for the meal. (If you are joining us for the Seder, please consider adding $50 per person to your donation to help cover the cost of the meal.) We hope that you will join us!

Rosh Hashanah Day 1 – Herscher Hall at Skirball Cultural Center
Join us Rosh Hashanah Morning, Saturday, September 12th at 9:30 am at the beautiful Herscher Hall at the Skirball Cultural Center in a glass atrium looking out upon the gardens and hills. We will take our prayers deeper and further with the teachings of the Torah, with the wisdom of Rabbi Levy’s words, and the inspiration of the Nashuva Band lifting us in prayer higher and higher. Here you will receive a sacred touchstone handmade just for you.
Meditative Painted Stones created just for you will be offered to all who attend the Rosh Hashanah Day 1 morning service. Choose from a wide array of hand-painted, one-of-a-kind Touch Stones with spiritual messages that support growth, love and healing.
Rosh Hashanah Day 2 at Venice Beach.
Our journey reaches new heights at our Tashlich Drumming Circle, Day 2 of Rosh Hashanah, Sunday, September 13th at 5:15 pm in Venice Beach on the sand before the sea beneath the heavens for Tashlich the Nashuva way!

Prior to the beginning of Kol Nidre, Nashuva will be offering a Pre-Kol Nidre, pre-ordered, pre-paid, boxed meal. Avoid the rush of preparing a meal, eating and cleaning up. Instead, come early to Skirball and enjoy a picnic-like setting with a delicious prepared, boxed meal.
WE ARE OFFERING TWO MEAL OPTIONS:
A pre-ordered, boxed meal of poached salmon with pasta salad and vegetables, potato chips, assorted cookies, sodas and bottled water.
A pre-ordered, boxed vegan meal of tofu with pasta salad and vegetables, potato chips, assorted cookies, sodas and bottled water.
PLEASE NOTE:
- The price per meal is $50.00 and we apologize but NO substitutions can be made.
- Paid reservations are required for meal pick-up
- NO walk-ins allowed. If you have not pre-ordered and pre-paid for your meal(s) by Thursday, September 14th, we will not be able to accommodate any requests for a Pre-Kol Nidre Meal.
- Please arrive early so that you can leisurely enjoy your meal. Boxed meal distribution begins at 4:30 pm and will continue until 5:30 pm, sharp. Diners can remain until 5:45 pm, at which time the dining area will be closed.

Kol Nidre – Herscher Hall at Skirball Cultural Center
Join us for Kol Nidre prayers in Herscher Hall at Skirball Cultural Center. We start at 6:15 pm to light candles and chant the Kol Nidre prayer. Together we begin our 25 hour fast and the day that can cleanse our souls and transform our very lives. Our prayers deepen, the promise of peace and hope is in the air. This is a Kol Nidre service like you have never experienced – soulful, uplifting and inspiring.
Yom Kippur – Herscher Hall at Skirball Cultural Center
Yom Kippur morning service begins at 9:30 am.
We return to Herscher Hall at the Skirball Yom Kippur morning to take this holy day and all its power deeper and higher still – with prayer, song, wisdom, Torah and the Yizkor memorial service: remembering our departed, and the experiencing the healing that comes from our tears.
Ne’ilah, Havdalah & Break Fast at Clover Park
On Yom Kippur afternoon, we are offering our Healing Sound Bath once again. So many in our community found it to be transformative. We invite you to join us this year, at 4:45 pm, prior to Ne’ilah at Clover Park in Santa Monica No prior experience needed for this soulful experience in nature.
We rise higher to Ne’ilah, at 6:00 pm at Clover Park in Santa Monica, in the grass beneath the stars, where all our efforts and tears, prayers and teachings give our prayers the power to soar to the very highest heights. We will each have an opportunity to stand before our Torahs to offer a private holy prayer on this holiest of nights. At the final shofar blast we will truly welcome a new year filled with sweet blessings.
It can be cool in the evening – please bring a jacket or blanket.
Please join with us and stay for our Break Fast following Havdalah. Nashuva invites you to be our guest, open to all! Inspiring prayer, delicious food, joyful music, inviting community! We suggest a voluntary minimum donation of $375 – $750 per person. If possible, we hope you will consider a higher amount to show your support and commitment to Nashuva and to help us welcome everyone who wants to attend.
Please understand that we are trying to ensure that Nashuva remains a special community and that we continue to offer a unique setting for spiritual awakening. We will never turn anyone away who cannot afford the suggested $375 donation (tax deductible as allowed by law) – all are welcome, always! We encourage you to donate to the best of your ability. We do not ever require membership fees or charge for tickets but we do need everyone to register!
