| NASHUVA
AT CREATIVE SPACE |
A Soulful, Creative Jewish Learning Experience for Children
|
| “Imagine: Walking into Nashuva at Creative Space on a Friday afternoon. The sweet smell of Challah baking in the oven. Each child running in to have a turn to bake. No formal desks. Jewish learning through music, art, movement. Aren’t you jealous? No worries. You will join us at the end for a Shabbat service, taste the freshly baked Challah, and enter into the peace and light of Shabbat.” - Rabbi Naomi Levy |

| Our Mission |
- Our mission is to build on the innate curiosity, goodness and spirituality of children. We choose meaning over rote memorization. We want to educate Jewish children who will turn their learning into acts of kindness and social justice.
- We teach Torah as a living text, one that can illuminate our lives today. We teach prayer as a path to expressing our deepest dreams and hopes. We teach children that they are part of a beautiful, wise, ancient community.
- We seek to change the way Jewish education meets the future; to foster interdisciplinary thinking, to raise a new generation of Jewish leaders; to engage fully in the global community; and to facilitate lifelong Jewish learning.
- We want to remain open and connected to new ways of teaching and learning so that we too never lose the passion for what we do and how we do it. This allows us to be current and responsive to the needs of our students and the ever-evolving world we live in.

| Philosophy |
| We seek to give young people a Jewish skill set. If we give them the inspiration, we will motivate them to keep their minds actively engaged in Jewish learning and in Jewish ways of giving back to the world.
Ours is a curriculum of kindness, spirituality and social justice. We offer a dynamic environment where students take an active role in their Jewish learning. Our center stresses direct personal experience, inquiry through primary Jewish sources, and hands-on interpretation and analysis of information. Our curriculum focuses on Torah, prayer and acts of kindness, taught through music, cooking, art and movement.
Children learn that Judaism is a wellspring of wisdom that will help them address real-life situations, solve problems and repair the world. |
